THE STORY WE TELL | Our Power Or Our Prison

March 31, 2020 @ 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm

Storytelling is an intrinsic part of being human. Our unique ability to create and imagine are what sets us apart as a species. From childhood, we learn best through stories, and often times these stories are filled with adventure, heroism and ultimately fulfillment and success. Through these stories, we begin to develop our sense of self and how we relate to the world around us.

As we begin to mature, we are then instructed to stop telling these fantasy tales of what could be and begin to look at what is. Look at the harsh realities of life and stop the daydreaming.

Whether we are aware of it or not, we create in our minds our own unique narrative that is our life story. We then begin to repeat this story to ourselves and to those around us.

We all create our own life narratives.

These stories have the power to shape our future or limit it.

Have you have ever caught yourself thinking “I can’t do X, because I’m not that sort of person” or “I am the way I am because X happened to me” or “I’m too X for that”? If so, then you have been a victim of your own story.

There is a huge danger in these imagined constructs in our minds because they can translate into a small but persistent voice that says we can’t do it and we don’t belong there.

We begin labeling ourselves and our abilities through the story we tell.

The danger lies in that we have a tendency to fulfill the labels that we accept, either from ourselves or other people. By accepting them, we, in turn, alter the way people behave towards us.

In this month’s Manfulness Living gathering, we are going to take a deeper dive into the story we tell and look at the impact that this narrative may actually be having on your perception of your worth and even more importantly, your long-term health and well-being.

We will:

  • Look at the scientific way the story we tell affects our lives
  • Get a greater understanding of the impact of the underlying narratives
  • Take an open and honest look at the story we are currently telling
  • Have the opportunity to rewrite and tell a new story

The event is confidential, facilitated and transformative.

Participants in the event will leave with:

  • A renewed sense of focus and purpose
  • A redefined formula of personal success and worth
  • Proven practices to ensure long-term success
  • A clearly defined plan of action

By participating actively in this event, men can decide for themselves their future path forward as it relates to a greater understanding of their worth.
